Lincoln closely supervised the victorious war effort, especially the selection of top generals, including Ulysses S. Grant. Scholars now rank Lincoln among the top three U.S. Presidents, with the majority of those surveyed placing him first.
There have been reports that Abraham Lincoln may have suffered from which they then called melancholia, basically being todays form of depression.
